Melting Into Him

Overcoming the things that hold us back from fulfilling His plans for us.

This message is about learning to melt more into Jesus. We’ll explore the reasons we resist the healing or refining process and hear God’s word on overcoming those things.

Fulfilling God’s plan for us requires daily obedience, saying yes to His will over the desires of our flesh or the world.

Are we 100% ready to say yes, no matter what? Or does our ‘yes’ come with questions or hesitation?

Does a conversation like this sound somewhat familiar now or at some point in the past?

me: Good morning Father.

God: Good morning. I’ve been waiting for you. I’m so glad you came to sit with Me. I have a question for you today. Are you ready to say yes to me?

me: Yes Lord. I’m always ready to say yes to You. Wait…yes to what?

God: Me. My will. My needs. My plans

me: Yes Lord…and as I say yes, I’m aware of a nervousness in my spirit. What is that Lord?

God: It’s a wavering trust.

me: No Lord… my trust is unwavering. Wait…there’s that nervous feeling again.

God: You say yes and with that yes you want to know exactly what you’re saying yes to. You want to see the plan, the steps, what’s required and what the result will be. I’m asking you to say yes to Me. Period.

me: [silent contemplation]

God:
I’m asking you to say yes to Me. Not yes to…

  • a specific action
  • a safe path
  • a comfortable thing

I’m asking you to say yes with complete trust in Me, your creator, your God. I want a yes that trusts I’ll show you the way one step at a time. Say yes to trusting me without questions like…

  • what will be required of me
  • how hard will it be for me
  • how long will this take
  • how safe will I be

me: Oh Lord, I want to. Help me

God: I’m asking for a yes to complete surrender. I want you to melt into Me.

This presentation is about getting in touch with the reasons we resist ‘melting’ and letting God increase our faith in Him, His will and His path.

Presentation Deliverables

This message will focus on overcoming what holds us back from surrendering fully to God’s calling. We’ll look at things…

  • Fear of transformation
  • Avoiding change
  • Fear of losing our personal identity or of the unknown
  • Limited trust – lack of nourished intimacy with God
  • Clinging to familiarity
  • A need to please people
  • etc…

And we’ll seek God’s word to overcome the things that hold us back from melting more into Him. Attendees will leave with practical things they can do to overcome ‘melt resistant’ moments.
